30 things wrong with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) trailer


  1. The new spidey suit looks oddly saturated in colour, and pretty awful as well. If this is meant to be the darker version of Spider-Man, surely more chrome colours are needed for the suit? And they changed the eyes.
  2. Matrix action shot, but looks terrible.
  3. Obvious product placement which would put the Shreddies cameo in Thor: The Dark World (2013) to shame.
  4. More obvious product placement than you can shake a stick at.
  5. Andrew Garfield still isn't quite comfortable as Peter Parker.
  6. The action is pretty dull in this film.
  7. Peter's speech should be the same as Spider-Man 2 (2004) if they wanted it to have an impact on people.
  8. An actress that got nominated for God knows how many awards last year plays Aunt May who barely appeared in the first movie, and it looks the same for the second.
  9. Gwen Stacey appears, negating the ending of the first movie.
  10. Gwen Stacey seems really cool with Peter being shot at, even though in the last movie she wasn't.
  11. If Gwen is going to die in this movie, surely she should do a lot more?
  12. Harry and Norman Osborn appear despite being only vaguely mentioned in the last movie as if they had actually appeared in the last one.
  13. Harry Osborn has an automatic character to him from the trailer, which no other character has from this trailer.
  14. Harry Osborn looks like he is to become the Green Goblin before his father, going against the story of the Green Goblin and...
  15. ...his ginger hair looks awful. Couldn't they have given him a mask or helmet or something? Also...
  16. ...Green Goblin appears, despite these movies trying to NOT be like the Sam Raimi movies, which had the theme of the Green Goblin right the way through all three of them.
  17. Rhino appears, but looks like something out of Transformers or Power Rangers.
  18. Doc Ocs' arms appear, in another second film of a Spider-Man series.
  19. Vulture's wings appear as well.
  20. Venom is mentioned on the holographic table somewhere, as well as...
  21. ...Dr Connors - the Lizard!
  22. How many villains are there in this trailer alone?
  23. Jamie Foxx looks awesome as Electro but has a bad costume...
  24. ...and bad dialogue.
  25. Electro is so much more awesome than Spider-Man and they use him to sell the 3D tickets, despite the fact that the rest of the movie looks pretty 'meh' in 3D.
  26. The mystery of Peter Parker's parents is still there despite being literally just the beginning of the first movie.
  27. Richard Parker explains something everyone already guessed.
  28. The mysterious guy from the first movie appears, despite the writers not knowing who he was in the first movie.
  29. The title of this movie is boring and uninspired.
  30. No awesome logo at all.

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) - Movie Review

The Mission: Impossible franchise has experienced a mixed reception across its four prior installments, with the most popular being 2011's Ghost Protocol. I'm not entirely with the series, only that its pretty much Tom Cruise and co pulling off dangerous missions with some cool action and a catchy theme music, although I did end up watching Ghost Protocol one random night. Despite this, I have very little recollection of the actual film, and it obviously didn't leave much of an impression on me. Suffice it to say though that Rogue Nation is the first Mission: Impossible film I saw the trailer for, liked the look of and went to the cinema to see it, and my expectations were pretty reasonable - cool action, good stunts and an entertaining watch. I guess I got what I expected. The story follows the disassembling of the IMF, while Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is pursuing The Syndicate - a rogue nation that causes havoc across the world. Doctor Who: The Power of the Doctor (2022) - Review

And with that, the Thirteenth Doctor's era has come to a close. It's easy for regeneration stories to be overshadowed by the programme's future - understandable given the show's constant change and renewal - but suffice it to say that The Power of the Doctor makes for a fitting conclusion to this era of the programme. Kicking things off with a heist on a space train, we're reintroduced to the Cybermasters, returning from The Timeless Children back in Series 12. It's good to see them return, even if their ultimate roles in the narrative serve mainly as cannon fodder more than anything else. Their Cyber-converted planet, which I'd speculated to Gallifrey, was a nice idea even if it served as a backdrop to the events unfolding rather than playing a significant role. Quite why Ashad and his Cyber Warriors were brought back, other than fan popularity, I'm not sure. An off-hand comment about the Master cloning Ashad doesn't quite resolve the character'

The phrase "I'm shook" springs to mind. Ten years after Marvel Studios released their first independent motion picture ' Iron Man ', the studio brings together (almost) all of their superhero characters into one enormous event film - ' Avengers: Infinity War '. Bursting at the seams with characters, ongoing arcs and a narrative sprawling across space, can the team behind ' Captain America: The Winter Soldier ' and ' Captain America: Civil War ' pull it off? Short answer: no, of course they can't. But they do a pretty great job trying.
