Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) - TEASER #2 REACTION

(Insert Star Wars-related pun here.)
We're a mere eight months away from the biggest film of 2015, and potentially one of the biggest films in recent memory. Just as we were all hyped for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Disney unveiled the second teaser trailer for The Force Awakens - the seventh installment of the Star Wars saga - at the Star Wars celebration, and millions of people were amazed.
Myself included.
The new trailer opens with a shot of a new planet - akin to Tatooine - with a speeder travelling across the desert, but hang on a second - there's a destroyed Star Destroyer in the background! Irony! References! Probably something more interesting in the foreground but all of us went "oh my god - it's a massive bloomin' Star Destroyer!"
We also get a narration from Luke Skywalker, talking about how the force runs in his family, mentioning subtly that his father has it. Does that mean we'll see Anakin Skywalker's ghost in the film, or maybe even a resurrection...? Or maybe I'm over-analyzing.
Anyway, the narration continues, followed by "my sister has it". Did Leia have the force in the original trilogy? She never really used it, but its quite possible it was there. Finally, Luke says that "you" have it, perhaps referring to Daisy Ridley's character? Hmmm.
Among all this we have Darth Vader's burnt helmet and sound effect, a shot of presumably Luke with his robotic hand with R2-D2, and Luke's old light-saber being passed by someone to...someone.
Wow. I'm amazed so far. So many big reveals...
X-Wing Fighters! Evil Sith! Re-designed Stormtroopers! The Millennium Falcon! Tie-Fighters! New characters! Excellent direction! Cool action! John Boyega looking the same in every shot...
Yeah, I'm wondering if Mr Boyega can actually pull a facial expression that isn't moody or scared. Perhaps this is just a bad selection of shots so far, I can't really judge too much.
We also get a lot of Daisy Ridley's character - rumoured to be Han and Leia's daughter - so perhaps instead of Luke or "the chosen one" we'll have a badass heroine this trilogy round. I'm not complaining.
Of course, it all looks fantastic, from the shot composition to the CGI and practical effects. J.J. Abrams may have directed bad films (I'm look at you, Star Trek), but he always makes it look like a visual masterpiece, and The Force Awakens looks to be no exception.
And after so much awesomeness, we get to see Han Solo and Chewbacca, presumably on the Millennium Falcon, with Han saying "Chewie, we're home" as millions of fans screamed in happiness...only to probably scream in range when they all inevitably are disappointed on December 18th.
I for one though am looking forward to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and while it won't live up to everyone's expectations, it should be able to live up to mine: a good story, entertaining, visually fantastic, a great cast and a cracking score. Also, not too much fan-pandering please. Actually telling a story would be nice. :)

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is released on December 18th 2015.

(Oh, and a Batman v Superman teaser trailer for the teaser trailer was revealed. It re-used a shot from Man of Steel's teaser trailer and what was new was pretty poor in comparison to this. Just saying.)
