Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) - TEASER TRAILER REACTION

"We know better now, don't we? Devils don't come from hell beneath us - they come from the sky!"

"Tell me - do you bleed? You will."

Wow. I was ready to rip this trailer to shreds as being pointless advertising for a film not due to come out for another year, but damn it Warner Bros you exceeded my expectations! The teaser for the teaser trailer may have been one of the most pointless videos ever made, to the point where I'll be amazed if anyone actually got paid to edit that, but this trailer is a teaser at its best.
Now, of course it can't capture our imaginations in the same way as the second teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and of course this only "leaked" early because WB wanted to show people that Batman v Superman was happening as well, but this was a fantastic tease.
Now, Man of Steel was a film I initially loved, and now just enjoy as a good, solid blockbuster with an overlong final action sequence and a lack of actual fun. However, it became clear that it wasn't the film W.B. were hoping for, so alas we have the DC Cinematic Universe's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a film that is trying so desperately to get fans hyped that they have since decided to make it a Justice League prequel (with cameos), a Man of Steel sequel, a Batman reboot and a Batman vs Superman film. Wow. That's a lot to do in one movie. Which is, incidentally, why I was all for a two-part Batman v Superman, with Part I: Enter the Knight being the actual fight, and Part II: Dawn of Justice, being the Justice League prequel. That said, I understand why its one film and looking at the plot teased here, it could all work.
The first thing I love is the quotes chosen for this trailer. If someone like Superman came to the real world and started saving people and causing damage in the process illegally, of course people would be divided. This is an element that has been mentioned briefly in films like The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but it should be good to see a sequel to a film like Man of Steel tackle this subject, with Batman being against Superman. The use of a statue with "false God" graffitied onto it is a great way to begin this trailer, and Jesse Eisenberg's dialogue as Lex Luthor was fantastic at sharing his viewpoint.
Then we have Jeremy Iron's Alfred Pennyworth narration. While he doesn't sound like I imagine Alfred to or look like Alfred, I can see why Irons was cast and I'm sure he'll do a good performance. We also get our first look at Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, looking moody, but at least different to Christian Bale, and also not looking bored (I'm looking at you, Daredevil). He looks great in the costume, and the first shot of him coming out of the rubble looked just like it was from Frank Millar's The Dark Knight Returns. The costume itself looks...okay, and I'm a bit disappointed that it isn't blue and grey, but it looks good on Affleck. I'm sold so far.
Then, we get to see Batman in his armour, facing off against Superman, and just as we wait for battle to commence...the logo comes up. This is going to be pretty awesome if Zach Snyder's Man of Steel direction is still just as great, if not better.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is released of March 25th 2016.
