Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - Season 3 Episode 17 Review

"The Team" begins with the Secret Warriors assembled by Daisy and Lincoln to rescue the captured SHIELD agents and...they succeed. It's unexpected to see an episode of SHIELD called "The Team" pretty much deliver the team-building stuff supposedly in the opening 10 minutes.
Then the episode changes into a claustrophobic whodunnit, something akin to a horror movie. The whole of SHIELD is locked down in the bunker, with supposedly no means of escape. Thus, they have to work out who has been possessed by Hive before its too late.
While I'm talking about these scenes, I have to admit that I was a little confused by Malick's death. In his vision of the future, Malick specifically says that Hive will kill him, but it is revealed later that Daisy killed him. So...why did Malick say that Hive would kill him if his attack - that being Daisy - was stood right in front of him? It doesn't really add up, if I'm honest. Hmmm...
Lincoln is believed to be the possessed member of the Secret Warriors, so is locked up in a very clear "we're going to do a massive twist later" manner. Why on Earth these super-spies fell for such an obvious scapegoat I have no idea, but oh well. The real traitor of the team is in fact Daisy, who accidentally reveals herself to Lincoln before wrecking the bunker and leaving. Its a well-done plot twist if it wasn't for the fact that it could only have been Daisy in the first place. Its trying to be such a shocking twist but if you think about it logically, the only logical culprit is Daisy.
I did really enjoy this episode though. It felt well-structured, and I thoroughly enjoyed the almost horror element with the whole of SHIELD locked down in the bunker and looking for the traitor. While the reveal wasn't all that shocking, it does throw a massive spanner in the works for the season and I look forward to seeing where this all goes next. 9/10
