Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - Season 3, Episode 8 Review

This episode of Agents of SHIELD seemed to be the 'big reveal' episode of this season, revealing the ACTU to in fact be under Hydra control (somehow not noticed by the head of the ACTU), and that the space program Will was a part of was in fact part of a plan by Hydra to recover an Inhuman trapped on another planet - supposedly being the purpose of Hydra from the beginning. I mean, that's why their logo has a Red Skull on it - because the Red Skull wasn't the founder of Hydra and they were in fact a Medieval cult or something. Huh.
There was a lot going on in this episode but very few things actually went very far. The standalone plot seemed to be looking into the secrets at the ACTU - revealing that there is no Inhuman cure at all - and everything else (May and Lincoln's mission, Ward just hanging around) had nothing much to work with.
This means that there isn't much one can say about an episode of SHIELD that doesn't have a standalone plot or anything other than big reveals that won't be explained for another episode or twenty, resulting in a rather cluttered episode that even writing about a couple of weeks after I watched it is just fading into tiny details I'll pay attention to in the Previously sections of the next 14 episodes. While not bad, this episode didn't have much really to it, and barely sticks out in my mind. I liked the tension between Rosalind and Coulson, but her being oblivious to so much going on in her Top Secret organisation just seems a bit far-fetched. 6/10
