Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) - TRAILER #3 REACTION

You know when Terminator Genisys revealed its major plot twist in the second trailer? Yeah, looks like Warner Bros have done that with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I'm assuming that you've probably seen the trailer already if you're reading this, and I'm assuming you might be a bit annoyed by the trailer's big twist.

Let's talk about that first: Doomsday was revealed at the end of the trailer, in all of his Cave Troll-like form, not to mention his origin and him fighting Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. You know what? I'm fine for a tease. Keep the Lex Luthor "devil" line, keep the roar, and then perhaps show Batman and Superman staring at some unknown adversary. Cut out the full body shot of Doomsday and Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman herself feels shoehorned into this trailer as it is, so there's no need to keep her and Doomsday in here. And by the way, this is coming from someone who's only problem with Wonder Woman's 2017 movie is that Chris Pine's in it.
But yes, there were other things in this trailer. Most notably, the opening sequence of the trailer - which I loved. Seriously, that was just...awesome! Just seeing Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck facing off like that was great to see, and it is good to see Clark Kent actually being Clark Kent in this film. The dynamic between the two looks great, and just as it looks like its about to kick off...Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor comes in. Now, I'm no Lex Luthor fan. He's a kinda dull villain, so the fact that Jesse Einsenberg is really playing it up is something that I have no problem with. His dialogue is excellent, and I love how naturalistic his performance is. Thumbs up from me.
It's from there though, when the trailer goes through its 2 1/2 hour run-time compressed into 2 minutes where it all falls apart for me. The way the shots are edited to look fast-paced looks terrible and irritating, and there's no sense of structure or pace to this bit. I would have been happy with just the montage from the end of the Comic Con trailer after the excellent party scene, but alas Warner Bros wanna get the Batman fans, the Superman fans, the Wonder Woman fans, Doomsday fans and whoever wants this movie to reveal its third act hyped for it.
DC, the last Batman v Superman trailer was great. You've now just severely lowered my expectations. I see a good, if not great movie in this - but I want to see the movie as a movie, not a trailer.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is released on March 25th 2016, and shall be the continuation of the DC Extended Universe, continued in Suicide Squad, set to be released on August 6th 2016.
